What is ECU?
An engine control unit (ECU), also commonly called an engine control module (ECM) is a type of electronic control unit that controls a series of actuators on an internal combustion engine to ensure optimal engine performance.
Why get a ECU without speed limit?
Manufacturers are adapting off-road vehicles to today’s needs and emission standards. Due to statutory rules, the power of vehicles is not optimal or otherwise manufacturers exceed requirements and standards. These requirements are not specific to the climate / atmosphere, fuel quality or individual driving style of the area. Engine control unit (ECU) optimization allows the engine to achieve excellent performance, resulting in higher power, higher torque, better throttle response and even better fuel economy. In order to be able to sell vehicles as legal road vehicles, manufacturers are adapting off-road vehicles to modern requirements and emission standards. Due to legal regulations, the actual capabilities of vehicles are limited and optimized to meet legal requirements.
These requirements are not limited to the climate / atmosphere, fuel quality or individual driving style of a particular region, but are valid throughout the European Union. Engine control unit (ECU) software and in some cases optimization of the transmission or exhaust system also allows the engine to achieve original and unlimited performance, resulting in higher power, higher torque, better throttle response.
